This is a narrow road, there are quite a few less people here than in the
other parts of the city. To the north, a soldier dressed in black and white
stands at attention. To the south a sign declares ‘San Francisco Bodywear’
in cheap silver paint.

A metal catwalk
The thin metal mesh that serves as a stable floor here makes a loud clanging
sound as steps are set down on it. The railing blocks a thirty foot drop onto
a large plastic sheet separating the catwalk from the lab below. The white
floors and equipment of the lab contrast greatly against the dark walls of the
warehouse and the dim light being provided by three lamps hanging in a row
across the middle of the catwalk. It extends on to the north and south.
